Artist, Photographer and former Nest Resident Adele Mary Reed led the photowalk for July’s Third Friday:

UPDATE: Adele has put together a lovely zine featuring photos by everyone who joined the walk. Have a look and let us know what you think!

A scorching July day – they’ve been so scarce so far this year you can count them on one hand – saw a small group set out up the canal towpath armed with cameraphones, film and digital cameras.

Adele gave us prompts before we left The Nest to help us guide our photographs. Mine (Janet) was to photograph the group’s hands…

And here are a few of my non-hands photos:

Back at The Nest, we had a go at making Cyanotypes – Adele had brought some small pieces of pre-treated paper. We pressed objects we had picked up between the paper and the glass and put them out in the sun for 10 minutes, then rinsed them.

Huge thanks to Adele for leading the walk and to the lovely group who came. My film has now been posted off for developing – looking forward to seeing the results of that, and the other photos that other people took.
